Disney's Treasure Planet: Etherium Rescue is a spin-off from the 2002 animated film. Players owning Etherium Rescue, as well as Disney's Treasure Planet: Treasure Racer and Disney's Treasure Planet: Broadside Blast can unlock a free fourth game, Disney's Treasure Planet: Ship Shape; taken together, they make up the Disney Treasure Planet: Training Academy. The player, as a freshmen cadet, is mentored in the games by Jim, who is in his second year at the interstellar academy, and events take place approximately one year following the end of the movie.
