Children help Rainbow Fish and his friends find a way out of the whale by engaging in a variety of games. Characters like Bandadore, Molo, and Rainbow Fish's sister Ruby are featured in games with objectives such as avoiding grumpy crabs to free a fish, helping a hermit crab find a lost friend, and getting flowers to bloom to reveal a baby sea horse.
The adventure uses animation and dialogue similar to those in the Rainbow Fish books. Players select not only the order of the games, but the ending of the story as well!
