The year is 2082. The colonization of Mars has failed. The last human colonists are evacuated from the partially terraformed planet under the supervision of United Nations (U.N.) troops. On October 21, a military patrol discovers something very unusual during a routine reconnaissance flight, a giant gun. Further studies reveal that it is an Alien aircraft and, most shockingly the gun is pointed directly at Earth. The translation of the guns description shows that the Aliens will return in one year, probably to fire this terrible weapon. Needless to say, this would have cataclysmic consequences. So, faced with little other choice, Earth begins preparing for war. The two leading arms manufacturers are vying for the contract to equip the Earth army for the upcoming conflict. Since the army must use the most advanced technology to stand a chance against the Aliens, this contract promises to be the most lucrative ever rewarded. But the president of the U.N. world government is taking no chances. He orders the two firms to stage a series of war-games on Mars. It turns out that the surface of the Red Planet makes an ideal battlefield, with plenty of space, lots of old mines, and even the remainders of strange Alien energy sources. Whoever emerges victorious will be rewarded the contract and all the fame and fortune sure to go with it. With so much at stake, everything goes. So hold on tight and let the ride begin!
