The CD does not autoinstall

The following describes the manual installation procedure: 1. Place the ClueFinders 4th Grade Adventures: Puzzle of the Pyramid v 2.4 CD into the CD-ROM drive. 2. Double-click the My Computer shortcut on the Desktop. For Windows XP, click Start and click My Computer. 3. When the My Computer window opens, double-click the shortcut that represents the drive containing the ClueFinders® 4th Grade Adventures: Puzzle of the Pyramid v 2.4 CD. The installation Welcome window will open.

NOTE: If installation Welcome window does not open and the contents of the CD are displayed instead, double-click the Play.exe file to begin the installation.

4. Click Next and follow the prompts to complete the installation.

Installation process keeps repeating on Windows XP

Installation Keeps Repeating (Windows XP) When installing ClueFinders 4th Grade Adventures v 2.4 on a system running Windows XP, the installation appears to finish. However, ClueFinders 4th Grade Adventures v 2.4 is not completely installed and the installation repeats. This occurs when the WinG files needed to properly install and run the program are not present on the system. Copying the six WinG files from the program CD to the C:\Windows\System32 folder will allow ClueFinders 4th Grade Adventures v 2.4 to successfully install and run. View the remainder of this technical note for the procedure. Follow the procedure below to resolve the issue.

1. Place the ClueFinders 4th Grade Adventures v 2.4 CD into the CD-ROM drive. 2. Exit the Setup and close all programs. 3. Click Start and click My Computer. The My Computer window will open. 4. Right-click the icon that represents the drive containing ClueFinders 4th Grade Adventures v 2.4 CD. 5. From the menu that appears, click (left mouse button) Open. The contents of the CD are displayed. 6. Double-click the Install folder to view its contents. 7. Double-click the WinG folder to view its contents. 8. Click Edit from the menu bar and click Select All. 9. Click Edit from the menu bar and click Copy. 10. Click the Back button on the tool bar two times to return to My Computer. 11. Double-click the C: drive to view its contents. 12. Double-click the Windows folder to view its contents 13. Double-click the System32 folder to view its contents.

NOTE: If no files or folders appear, click Show Files.

14. Click Edit from the menu bar and click Paste. This will copy the six WinG files from ClueFinders 4th Grade Adventures v 2.4 CD and paste them into the C:\Windows\System32 folder. 15. When the file copy is complete, click the Back button on the toolbar three times to return to My Computer. 16. Double-click the icon that represents the drive containing ClueFinders 4th Grade Adventures v 2.4 CD. The installation should begin. 17. Follow the onscreen prompts to complete the installation.

NOTE: If the installation does not begin and the contents of the CD are displayed instead, double-click Play.exe to launch the installer. Follow the onscreen prompts to complete the installation.

18. When the installation is complete, close all programs. 19. Click Start, select Turn off Computer and select the option to Restart. 20. When the system restarts, launch and play ClueFinders 4th Grade Adventures v 2.4.
