The Emperor: Rise of the Middle Kingdom 1.0.1.0 Update includes a new campaign, new multiplayer scenarios, gameplay enhancements, and fixes for known issues. Consult the readme.txt for a full description of the changes.
ATTENTION MULTIPLAYER USERS
There is currently a problem with the Emperor: Rise of the Middle Kingdom program after the v. 1.0.1.0 update has been installed: After the user inserts their username and password and clicks on "Login" on the Multiplayer menu, a message will appear stating that the program needs to be updated, even though the v. 1.0.1.0 has already been installed. If you click "Yes", the program closes to the desktop and activates the auto-updater and attempts to once again install the update.
Here is how to resolve this error:
Open up the WONLobby.cfg file in the Sierra\EmperorRotMK directory.
Change the bottom line in the file from:
Version: 1.0.0.0
to
//Version: 1.0.0.0
Then go to FILE --> SAVE --> EXIT.
